This sweet treat is deliciously sticky and a special dessert or snack around the fall season.
4 medium size apples 4 caramel apple sticks 1 10 oz. bag or 2 6 oz. bags of Werther’s Original Chewy Caramels, unwrapped 1 1/2 Tbs. evaporated milk Push sticks into tops of apples
Place caramels and milk in a 1 quart microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high, stirring frequently until smooth, about 3 minutes. Dip and swirl apples in melted caramel mixture, using a spoon to spread evenly. Place caramel covered apples on a wax paper until caramel sets. Variations: Instead of using evaporated milk, try substituting your favorite flavored coffee creamer. Add your favorite chopped nuts immediately after dipping in caramel for great tasting texture.
