This simple cookie is sweet and sweeter with dates and maraschino cherries. Rice Krispies and pecans give them a fun crunch.
1/2 C. butter 1 1/2 C. chopped dates 1/3 C. chopped maraschino cherries 3/4 C. sugar 3 C. Rice Krispies 1 C. chopped pecans
Put butter, dates, cherries and sugar into a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture becomes a soft paste. Remove from heat. Add cereal and pecans. Mix well. Use a level Tbs. and make balls. Place on waxed paper to cool.
