- Tart, crisp apples that hold their shape are best for pie-making. Fall or early winter is the ideal time to bake an apple pie because the apple crop is fresh.
- When you have something in your crockpot cooking, don’t open the lid! Moisture will escape from the crockpot, and you’re cooking time will continue to increase.
- The liquid in your crockpot should only be about 1/2 or 3/4 full. It will keep the moisture in the food and make it taste delicious!
