Easy Chicken Dumpling Recipes, Hints & Videos

Chicken and dumplings conjure up weekends with Grandma where she made each dumpling by hand and the chicken was always tender. There are numerous versions of the dumpling ranging from the Chinese wonton to the often Jewish kreplach and matzo balls. In America we most often associate dumplings with a mixture of flour, shortening, water and/or milk.

Chicken and dumplings can often take a long time to make and  the dumplings themselves are labor intensive. But it doesn't have to be a weekend-only type of meal. We've put together some truly delicious and easy chicken and dumpling recipes that we're sure you'll make a part of your regular dinnertime routine.

Easy Chicken Dumpling Recipes

Chicken 'N Dumplings

The dumplings in this recipe are easily made with refrigerator biscuits.

Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut in small chunks

2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup

1/4 C. onion, finely diced

2 C. water

2 10 oz. packages refrigerated biscuits

1 chicken bouillon cube

Directions

Combine all ingredients, except biscuits, in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. 30 minutes before serving, tear biscuit dough into 1-inch pieces. Add to your slow cooker; stirring gently. Cover and cook on HIGH for an additional 30 minutes or until biscuits are fluffed up and cooked through.
