How to Make a Punch Bowl Cake

Simply put a punch bowl cake is layers of cake, fruit and whipped topping. You can use any cake mix you like (angel food, yellow, or white), just make sure you serve it in a punch bowl!


  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box vanilla pudding
  • 8 oz package of cream cheese
  • pineapples, diced
  • strawberries, sliced
  • 1 container of whipped topping
  • Maraschino cherries


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Bake cake as directed.
  3. Cook pudding as directed add in the cream cheese as the pudding thickens and stir on low heat until completely melted. Set aside to cool.
  4. Add the pineapples to the pudding mix.
  5. Create the first layer in the bottom of the punch bowl using crumbled up cake.
  6. Then make a layer with the pudding mix.
  7. Create another layer with the strawberries.
  8. Continue making the layers. The top layer should be cool whip with the maraschino cherries
  9. Refridgerate overnight.
