Kick out the Chemicals: Homemade Vitamin Water

When I learned about the ingredients in vitamin drinks, I couldn’t believe how processed and fake they are!  Seemingly healthy vitamin drinks are actually loaded with processed ingredients like crystalline fructose, citric acid and artificial coloring.  Not what we expect from a “healthy” beverage!

Luckily for our health and our wallets, homemade vitamin water is super easy to make.  You can be creative with mixing fruits and spices, but here are a few suggestions that you’re sure to love… for their health and their taste!

Stress Relief

2 C. watermelon (thinly sliced or cubed)

1 C. strawberries

2 sprigs rosemary

1 tsp. fresh lemon juice

1 ltr. purified water 

Crush the strawberries and rosemary slightly in a separate bowl.  Add to 1 L. glass, add remaining ingredients and stir.  Refrigerate for 4-6 hours.

 

Antioxidant Boost

1 C. blackberries

3-4 sage leaves

10 C. water

Crush blackberries slightly.  Add to remaining ingredients and stir.  Refrigerate 4-6 hours.

 

Detox

1 C. coconut water

½ C. coconut

¼ C. cucumber (sliced)

½ C. raspberries

½ C. blueberries

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 ltr. purified water

Crush blueberries and raspberries slightly and add to large 1 L. glass, add remaining ingredients and stir.  Refrigerate 4-6 hours.
