Limoncello Recipe, Hints & Videos

Limoncello is a liquor made from the zest of Sorrento lemons commonly found in Southern Italy. Inexpensive and easy to produce, it contains lemon zest, water, 96% pure alcohol and sugar. All that's required is time for this mixture to mature and you have a sweet and lemony, but not sour flavor that is bright yellow in color. You can then mix it with other flavors for a fun and unusual cocktail.

Italian Summer Drink

My dad would make it by hand and now with blenders it takes only minutes. The taste is very refreshing and not too sweet. It looks beautiful with a leaf of mint. This can be made as an Italian water, ice or in a slush mix.

Juice of 1/2 squeezed lemon

6 oz. pure orange juice

1/2 tsp. sugar or one pack sugar substitute

1 12 oz. glass crushed ice

1 mint leaf (optional)

In a blender jar add all ingredients except the mint leaf. Run the blender on liquify until it looks like it's a frozen water ice consistency. Or if more of a slushy mix, add a bit more water to mix. Pour in a beautiful tall glass and place the mint on top with a straw or spoon.
