New Year’s Resolution: Cut Out Fat

If your resolution this year is to lose a bit of weight, we’re here to help you out! Start by cutting out high-fat foods and replacing them with nutritious and delicious dinners that won’t make you pack on the pounds! Here are 8 meals to get you started.

Tropical Tilapia: A deliciously light and refreshing tropical dish for the spring/summer season. This requires only 6 ingredients for a full meal!

Mushroom and Barley Pilaf: This flavorful entree is cooked using fresh and dried mushrooms, heart vegetables and barley!
Black Bean and Sweet Potato Chili: This quick chili is delicious and very filling! The addition of sweet potatoes makes it a unique dish.

Turkey Spinach Burgers: My kids actually like these, and they are eating something that is good for them. Made with ground turkey and frozen spinach, I also throw in raw sunflower seeds and celery which makes them crunchy.

Herbed Pork with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms: Serve over brown rice to soak up the mushroom sauce, or with instant polenta and Parmesan cheese. If you don't have steak seasoning, use a blend of black pepper, crushed red pepper, salt, and garlic.

Fusilli with Garbanzo Beans and Spinach: This Italian dish uses canned garbanzo beans to reduce preparation and cooking time.
Grilled Chicken with Pico de Gallo: This recipe is so good. You will love the subtle flavor of the marjoram. As with the dip, the type of pepper you use in this dish will determine how hot and spicy the Pico de Gallo is.
Speedy Salmon Fillet: If you're short on time, but want to eat a healthy dinner, cook this speedy salmon fillet!
