One Stop Soda Shop

Bring back the soda shop era by serving family and friends some of your favorite ice cream treats! Try this combination of unique twists on the classics for a great variety of fun! Feel free to add some chocolate phosphates to the menu for some real time nostalgia. Oh, and don't forget to load up on the whipped cream, the maraschino cherries, and the chocolate syrup!

Basic Banana Milkshake

Brownie Ice Cream Cones 

Basic Banana Milkshake

Ingredients:

4 ripe bananas, sliced

4 C. milk or soy milk

1/4 tsp. vanilla extract, or to taste

Directions:

Place ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed until smooth.

Serves 3

"Cupid's Delight" Cherry Float

Ingredients:

cherry 7-Up

vanilla ice cream

whipped cream

maraschino cherry

Directions:

Add a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream into a frosted mug or plastic cup. Pour cherry 7-Up and add some whipped cream and top with a cherry.

Irish Sundae

Ingredients:

1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream

1 tsp. ground espresso coffee beans

1 Tbs. Irish whiskey

Directions:

Grind the coffee to a fine powder in an electric blender or electric coffee grinder. Place the ice cream scoops in individual serving bowls and sprinkle a tsp. of the powdered coffee over each serving. Pour the whiskey over the top and serve at once.

Brownie Ice Cream Cones

Ingredients:

1 4 oz. pkg. German sweet chocolate

1/4 C. butter or margarine

3/4 C. sugar

2 eggs

1/2 C. all purpose flour

1/2 C. chopped walnuts, optional

1 tsp. vanilla extract

24 cake ice cream cones (about 3 inches tall)

24 scoops ice cream

Colored or chocolate sprinkles

Directions:

In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter, stirring frequently. Cool slightly; pour into a bowl. Add sugar and eggs; mix well. Stir in flour, walnuts if desired and vanilla. Place the ice cream cones in muffin cups; fill half full with batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-22 minutes or until brownies are set on top and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs (do not over bake). Cool completely. Just before servings, top each with a scoop of ice cream and garnish with sprinkles.

Yield: 2 dozen
