Appetizer Dip Recipes

Baked Crab Dip

This is a delicious recipe that everyone will enjoy.


1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

1 6 oz. can crabmeat

2 Tbs. grated onion

1 Tbs. milk

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbs. finely sliced green onions, for garnish


In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, crabmeat, onion, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well. Place mixture in an ovenproof serving dish; sprinkle with a little paprika. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with sliced green onion.

Yield: approximately 2 cups

Spicy Chicken Fingers

These boneless chicken fingers really pack a punch!


4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

1/2 C. buttermilk

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. hot red pepper sauce

1/2 tsp. minced garlic

6 C. vegetables oil

1/2 C. flour

2 large eggs

2 1/2 C. instant potato flakes


Cut your chicken into 3/4 inch strips, removing the tenderloin (a white strip). In a large bowl mix chicken strips, buttermilk, 1/2 tsp. salt, hot pepper sauce and garlic. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes. Drain and discard marinade. In a large pan, heat oil to 375 degrees. Meanwhile, on a large plate, mix flour and salt. In a medium bowl beat eggs. Place potato flakes on plate. Coat chicken in flour, then eggs, the potato flakes. In hot oil, fry about 8 pieces at a time, about 2 minutes, until golden brown and cooked. Drain on paper towels

These are great for kids and parties!


1 lb. lean ground beef

2 Tbs. ketchup

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1 7 1/2 oz. pkg. party rolls

5 3/4 oz. pkg. processed American cheese slices, quartered

Condiments: mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, minced onion, dill pickle slices, tomato slices, lettuce leaves


Combine first 4 ingredients. Shape mixture by tablespoonfuls into patties, and place on a rack in a broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes or until done. Split rolls horizontally, and place a piece of cheese and a meat patty in each. Serve with desired condiments.

Note: Place in heavy-duty zip-top plastic bags; seal and freeze. Remove desired number of burgers from freezer; pack frozen in lunchbox. Sandwiches will thaw in approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Mozzarella Skewers

The perfect appetizer for a summer party, these skewers make a tasty appetizer that's so simple!


1 container fresh baby mozzarella

1 package fresh basil

25-30 cherry tomatoes, small to medium size


1 Tbs. balsamic vinegar

1 Tbs. olive oil

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper


If mozzarella balls are larger than 1/2-inch in diameter, cut into cubes to size. Wash and dry tomatoes and basil. If basil leaves are large, these may be cut in half.

Using small skewers about 4 1/2 inches long, slide on a tomato, a piece of basil folded in half and a cube of mozzarella. Repeat on new skewers until all the pieces have been used.

Combine ingredients for dressing and brush or sprinkle over skewers just before serving. Dressing can also be served on the side for dipping.

Ham Appetizer Recipes

Easy Deviled Ham and Cheese Phyllo Triangles

Forget the sandwich and use phyllo dough for a tasty lunch or finger-food appetizer.


12 sheets phyllo dough

100% vegetable oil non-stick spray

1 Tbs. Dijon mustard

4 oz. deli ham, minced (about 1/2 C.)

3 oz. cream cheese, cubed into 12 equal pieces


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Layer 4 sheets of phyllo, spraying each with vegetable oil spray. Cut layered phyllo in four slices crosswise. Place 1/4 tsp. Dijon mustard about 1 1/2-inch from end of a phyllo strip. Top with 1 Tbs. ham and one cube of cream cheese. Fold one corner diagonally across to opposite edge to form a triangle. Continue folding triangle onto itself. Spray top and bottom of triangle with vegetable oil spray. Repeat until you have 12 triangles. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 20-25 minutes.
