Editor's Review: Hillary Marshak, Northbrook, IL I loved the airiness of these chips. They're completely different than the types of chips I'm used to eating. I would love these packed as a side dish in a brown bag lunch or even as an afternoon snack. The two flavors (French Onion and Southwest Cheddar) were great! I highly recommend Snyder's Multigrain Sunflower Chips! |

I have to really watch what I eat these days due to health issues. So, when I read the package further I was in awe, wanting to open a package at once. I held back and decided to invite some friends over to sample them with me. I set a date. I showed them the packs, and let them read and see what they where going to sample. All were like me, they all liked the 100 Calorie packs of sunflower chips because they are all natural with 0g Trans Fat and made with 6g Whole Grains per serving, and have 40% less fat than potato chips. We had the SOUTHWEST CHEDDAR flavor. After having a great time setting up for the photo shoot, we all dug in. Needless to say these chips can stand alone! Great light texture and taste. The five of us all agreed we would buy them as soon as we found them in our local store. We then tried the chips with my Quick and Easy Black Bean Dip I had made. We all enjoyed the chips very well. That was until they where gone. We all wanted more but, we were glad to have tried a new great chip! |

This simple tuna salad recipe is low fat and simple! Ingredients 2 cans chunk light tuna in water 1/4 C. olive oil mayonnaise 2 Tbs. mustard 1/4 C. onion, finely chopped 1/4 celery, diced 1/4 tsp. celery salt Directions Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix. Place on your favorite bread. Review I love the idea of a 100 calorie bag to help with the amount that I consume. I was worried about how sunflower chips would taste but, they were great! My kids loved them too. I made my Simple Tuna Salad on Nature's Own Honey 7 Grain bread with hamburger dill chips and Snyder's sunflower chips with French onion flavor. If you are trying to watch your calories this is a delicious way to do it! |
Reviewer Anna Orphan, Tucson, AZ Recipe Ingredients 3 tomatoes, diced 1/2 onion, diced 1/4 C. tomato paste 2 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil 1 tsp. granulated sugar 1 Tbs. dried oregano 3 garlic cloves 1 thin red chili 1 Tbs. chopped cilantro Salt and pepper Directions Blend all ingredients, except the cilantro, salt and pepper, in a blender for a few seconds until the ingredients are coarsely chopped. Mix in the cilantro, salt and pepper before serving. Makes 4 servings. Review I test-tasted the Snyder's of Hanover 100 calorie pack Sunflower chips in Multi-Grain Southwestern Cheddar. At first, I ate them out of the bag and was impressed that they didn't have a "fake" flavor that is too often associated with flavored chips. They are light and airy as the packaging states, but personally I prefer a chip that is a bit more dense. I decided to try the chips with a Garlic Tomato Dip from Recipe4Living. I have to say, the dip is fabulous and the chips were a perfect accompaniment for the dip. The airiness of the chips was a definite plus when eating with a dip as was the shape. They were easy to hold and allowed the dip to nestle on them. The cheddar flavor really didn't come through, though, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like that they contain less fat than potato chips and even tortilla chips. I'm not sure that I would buy these chips to eat as a stand alone snack, but I would definitely consider them as a chip to use with dip. The Garlic Tomato Dip is so easy to make and so flavorful, that I will definitely be making that again and sharing the recipe. |
