Buttery Fudgy Brownies
- ½ C. butter or margarine
- 3 oz. Unsweetened chocolate
- 1 C. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 C. all purpose flour
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- ½ C. chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 recipe Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting with Drizzles (follows)
In a medium saucepan melt butter or margarine and unsweetened chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool. Meanwhile, grease an 8x8x2 or 9x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside. Stir sugar into chocolate mixture in saucepan. Add eggs, one at a time, beating by hand just till combined. Stir in vanilla. In a small mixing bowl, stir together flour and baking soda. Add flour mixture to a chocolate mixture; stir just till combined. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake in a 350 degree F. oven, allowing 30 minutes for an 8 inch pan or 25 minutes for a 9 inch pan. Cool on rack. Before serving: if desired, frost with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting, then spoon or pipe with chocolate drizzle and/or white chocolate drizzle.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting with Drizzles
½ C. semisweet chocolate pieces
1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
2 to 4 Tbs. powdered sugar
1 recipe Chocolate Drizzle and/or White Chocolate Drizzle (recipe follows)
Frosting: In a small saucepan, melt semisweet chocolate pieces over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool. In a small mixing bowl, stir together the cream cheese and sugar. Stir in chocolate till smooth. Spread frosting over cooled brownies. Let frosting set, then top with Chocolate and/or White chocolate Drizzles, if desired. Chocolate Drizzle: In a small saucepan combine 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, 2 Tbs. margarine or butter, and 2 Tbs. milk. Stir constantly over low heat till melted. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 C. sifted powdered sugar and ½ tsp. vanilla, beating till smooth.
White chocolate Drizzle:
Prepare Chocolate Drizzle, substituting 1 oz. white baking chips (1/4 C.) for the unsweetened chocolate.
