Super Crisp Sugar Cookies that Will Melt in Your Mouth

I'll give you my recipe. It's delicious, crisp and they melt-in-your-mouth! This is a large recipe, as it makes 10 dozen. These freeze well and the 10 dozen won't last long!

  • 5 1/4 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 C. butter
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 C. powdered sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 C. oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Mix together the flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Cream the butter and sugars together. Add the eggs and beat until fluffy. Add the oil and vanilla. Beat, then beat in the flour mixture. Chill overnight. Roll in balls. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

  • This is absolutely the best ever sugar cookie recipe! Couldn't stop eating them. The only thing I did different was rolled out the dough after it was chilled and used a cookie cutter because my grandson wanted Valentine cookies.
