Steak Marinade Recipes, Hints & Videos
The process of marinating causes the meat to break down on a molecular level, rendering the steak more tender. The steak also becomes infused with the flavors of the marinade further adding to the quality of the meal. After the meat has been marinated for 1 hour to up to one day it can be prepared in a variety of ways including grilling and frying. But whatever method you choose to cook your marinated steak, remember to never use the same liquid you used to marinate the meat to baste it, as any harmful bacteria that would be cooked out of the meat will be reintroduced during the basting process.
Marinating steak is the simplest and tastiest way to take an average cut of meat and turn it into something spectacular. You can start with a basic steak marinade and move on to more complicated flavors like poblano peppers or pineapples.
Steak Marinade Recipes
This recipe is a fabulously easy marinade with big flavor taste!
Ingredients
1/4 C. soy sauce
1/4 C. olive oil
1 tsp. Lemon and Pepper Seasoning
1 tsp. garlic powder
Directions
Mix all ingredients together. Next, prick the steak with a fork on both sides of the meat. I also prick the sides of the steak too. Put steak in a Tupperware Marinade pan or you can use a large zip lock storage bag. Pour marinade sauce over the steak. Next, close the top onto the bottom pan or zip up the storage bag. Marinate 2-3 hours (or overnight) turning over occasionally to evenly marinate the meat. Broil or grill the meat. Enough marinade for a 1-2 lb. steak
