'Getting in Shape for Summer' Series: Low Fat Main Course Recipes and Tips

Everyone wants to be in shape for summer. Here at Recipe4Living, we're counting down until summer with low fat main course recipes!

We are getting closer and closer to swim suit season, and thoughts are turning to how we can best ready our bodies for the warm weather.  Maybe you've begun to workout.  Maybe your experimenting with new diets. Maybe you're not sure what to do. At Recipe4Living, we want to help you get on the right track. Spring can be an anxiety-causing season as people dwell on the approaching summer season where body parts are bared for all.  There are really only two things you need to focus on.  First, you should incorporate some amount of physical activity into your daily routine.  Did you notice how the word "exercise" wasn't used?  This is because that word often causes people to feel stressed about having to go to a gym. You don't have to join a gym to get healthy - you just have to move!  Take the stairs, walk around your neighborhood or take a bike ride with your kids. 

Secondly, you should improve your diet in whatever ways you can.  No drastic changes, just small, realistic changes.  Lets face it, we can't cut out entire food groups from our diet.  Instead, we need to eat a little of everything.  This means as long as you consume fats and sweets in moderation, there's no need to deprive yourself.  Besides, healthy eating requires more than slashing foods from you diet; it requires you to work on incorporating the good foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc.) too.
