15-20 Minute Stroganoff
Serving Size / Yield
- 1 lb. round steak, 1/4-in. thick
- 1 (3 oz.) can broiled, sliced mushrooms with liquid
- 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
- 1 C. dairy sour cream
- 2 Tbs. all-purpose flour
Trim fat from meat and reserve. Cut meat diagonally across grain in very thin strips. Heat fat in skillet until you have about 3 tablespoons melted fat. If necessary add butter. Remove trimmings and brown meat. Add 2/3 cup water and mushrooms with liquid. Stir in soup mix. Heat to boiling. Blend sour cream and flour, in separate bowl. Add to hot mixture. Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Serve over noodles or rice.
