Bacon and brown sugar flavor these baked beans.

  • 2-3 strips bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 15 oz. cans pork and beans
  • 1/2-3/4 C. catsup
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. yellow mustard (if desired)

Cook bacon in large skillet. Remove bacon. Drain all but 1 Tbs. of drippings. Add onion to drippings and cook about one minute, or until slightly clear. Add the pork and beans, the catsup and the brown sugar. Simmer long enough for ingredients to combine. The longer the beans simmer, the thicker they will be. Crumble bacon and add to bean mixture.
