This is a quick and easy peach cobbler recipe that has been passed down in our family. It's not only easy to prepare, it's easy to remember, since all ingredients are 1 C. or 1 tsp. I've taken it to many potlucks and to friends' houses, and they all just have to have the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1 C. milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 large can sliced peaches

Directions

Use one end of the margarine or butter to grease a 9x13 glass baking dish. Put the sugar in a large bowl. Cut the remainder of the butter or margarine into the sugar using a fork. Add all the remaining ingredients except the peaches, and blend until smooth. Pour this batter into the greased baking dish. Pour peaches into the batter, juice and all. Be sure peaches are spread out fairly evenly. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until crust puffs up and is golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
