  • 1 flank steak, cooked, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3 T. rendered olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, peeled, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled, minced
  • 2 T. chili powder
  • 1 T. smoked paprika
  • 1 T. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can black beans, drained
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chile
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 quart beef broth
  • 4 T. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. hot sauce (optional)

Take out a pot and heat the oil over medium heat. Once heated, add the onion and garlic into the pot. Saute for one to two minutes, or until translucent. Add the steak pieces and dry seasonings and stir to make sure the steak is evenly coated. Add the beans, chiles, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the ingredients to a boil. Lower the heat and let the ingredients simmer for around 15 minutes. Add hot sauce if you prefer. Add the cheese as garnish and serve.
