  • 1 ¼ C. sugar
  • 1 ½ C. applesauce
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ C. flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • Dash salt
  • Cream cheese frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer until creamy. Mix in applesauce and eggs. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually pour into batter while mixing until well-incorporated. Divide batter into cupcake liners and bake for 30 minutes until and inserted toothpick comes out clean. Top with your favorite cream cheese frosting!
