All Bran Seed Loaf

A very healthy and delicious recipe for a bran loaf. This is especially good in the morning once you pop a couple pieces in the toaster and add some jam or jelly.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C. whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 C. all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 C. (about 1 ¾ oz) sesame seed
  • 2 tsp. poppy seed
  • 3/4 C. orange juice
  • 1/4 C. honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 C. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 C. Kellogg's All Bran Cereal

Directions

Stir together whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, salt and seeds. Set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat orange juice, honey, eggs, oil and All Bran cereal, until well combined. Let stand 2 minutes.

Add flour mixture, stirring only until combined. Spread batter evenly in greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely before slicing.

Yield: 1 loaf
