Almost Heaven Cake

A very rich, moist cake. Must keep refrigerated.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 20-oz. can crushed pineapple
  • 1 8-oz. cream cheese
  • 1 lg. box instant pudding
  • 1 lg. Cool Whip
  • 1/2 C. ground nuts

Directions

Bake cake as directed on the package in a 9x13-inch cake pan. When done cooling, poke holes in cake with a fork. Spread crushed pineapple over cake, prepare pudding as directed on package, beat in cream cheese. Spread pudding mixture on cake. On top, spread Cool Whip, and top with ground nuts.

    I would use the 12 oz. size container of Cool Whip, as I believe that's the largest. I would also drain the crushed pineapple, since you're spreading it and not mixing it into anything. Happy baking!
