  • ½ C. all-purpose flour, heaping
  • ⅓ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ eggs, whites
  • 3 Tbs. butter, softened
  • ¼ C. sour cream
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¾ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • Cherry Buttercream
  • 7 C. powdered sugar
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • ½ C. vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ C. cherry puree
  • ¼ C. chopped cherries
  • 1 C. dark chocolate, shaved
  • Cherries to top

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy and add in the egg whites. Keep beating and add in the sour cream and vanilla extract. Combine the dry ingredients . Slowly add the dry ingredients in with the wet ones. Beat the eggs, butter cream frosting until it’s fluffy. Mix in the cherry puree and slowly fold in eh powdered, one cup at a time. Set the frosting aside. Bake the cake for 30 minutes until it's done. Let the cake cool then frost it. Place more cherries on top.
