Amish Sour Cream Corn Bread

This corn bread is so yummy hot from the oven with some butter and home made jam.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C. cornmeal
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs. melted butter
  • 1 C. sour cream
  • 4 Tbs. milk

Directions

Stir flour and meal. Add soda, tarter, salt and sugar. Stir. Add beaten egg, cream, milk and melted butter. This is a thick lumpy mixture. Bake in a square pan in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes.
