Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 Tbs. cornstarch
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 1 3/4 C. boiling water
  • 3/8 tsp. salt
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 sm. can crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 3/4 C. chopped pecans
  • 1 baked pie shell
  • 1/2 C. cream, whipped

Directions

Boil cornstarch, sugar and water. Cook until thick; add salt. Beat egg whites until stiff. Slowly pour boiled mixture into egg whites, beating constantly. Add vanilla and well drained pineapple. Pour into pie crust. Cover with whipped cream. Sprinkle with pecans.
