Angel's Devilish Drumsticks

With smoked chipotle peppers and hot sauce, these drumsticks are not for the faint at heart.

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbs. fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 C. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 Tbs. paprika
  • 1/4 C. honey
  • 3/4 C. red hot sauce, such as Tabasco
  • 3 smoked chipotles in adobo sauce
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 16 chicken drumsticks

Combine the first eight ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth for marinade. Place the drumsticks in a non-reactive container, pour the marinade over them and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight. Prepare a medium fire in the grill. Remove the chicken from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Place the drumsticks on the hot grate, cover and grill for 20 minutes, turning frequently, until they are fully cooked through. Transfer to a plate and serve. Serves 4.
