Serving Size / Yield
- 2 eggs
- 5/8 C. sugar
- 1 1/4 C. pastry flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. anise seeds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put eggs and sugar in a bowl and bake for 10 minutes. Add flour slowly, blending gently and thoroughly. Add anise seeds. Butter and flour a loaf pan 4 inches wide. Pour in batter and bake in oven for 20 minutes. Remove from pan, leaving oven on, cut loaf into 1-inch slices and place slices on buttered baking dish. Place again in oven. Brown slices on one side and then the other.
