Apple Beef Patties
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 C. cooked long grained rice
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ C. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ of a 5 oz. jar spiced apple rings (5 rings)
- 1/4 C. corn syrup
- 1 Tbs. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
Directions
Combine first seven ingredients. Shape into five thick patties, place in 12 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan. Drain apple slices, reserving syrup, and press one apple ring into each patty. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Combine apple and corn syrups and lemon juice in saucepan. Stir in two tsp. cold water into cornstarch and add to syrup mixture. Cook and
stir until bubbly. Spoon onto meat. Bake 5 minutes longer.
Yield: 5 servings.
