Apple Bread Pudding

Apple Bread Pudding

Warm and delicious dish you can enjoy anytime of the day, smells as good as it tastes.

Ingredients

  • Pudding:
  • 4 C. soft bread cubes
  • 1/4 C. raisins
  • 2 C. peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 C. milk
  • 1/4 C. margarine
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vanilla Sauce:
  • 1/4 C. white sugar
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar
  • 1/2 C. milk
  • 1/2 C. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 7x11 inch-baking dish. In a large bowl, combine bread, raisins and apples. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 C. brown sugar, 1 3/4 C. milk and 1/4 C. margarine; cook and stir until margarine is melted. Pour over bread mixture in bowl. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and eggs. Pour bread mixture into prepared dish and pour egg mixture on top. Bake in preheated oven 40 to 50 minutes, until center is set and apples are tender. Serve with warm vanilla sauce. To make sauce, combine sugar, 1/4 C. brown sugar, 1/2 C. milk and 1/2 C. margarine in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp. vanilla.
