Apple-Cinnamon Cream Cheese Swirl Loaf

This is a delicious loaf to have around the house, especially for a special breakfast or brunch.

  • 2 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 15.6 oz. package apple cinnamon or cranberry quick bread mix
  • 3/4 C. water
  • 2 Tbs. applesauce
  • 1 egg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease bottom only of an 8x4 or 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and egg; beat at medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute. Set aside

In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients; stir 50 to 75 strokes with spoon until mix is moistened. Pour half of batter into greased pan, pour filling over batter, spreading to cover. Pour remaining batter over filling. To marble, pull knife through batter in wide curves; turn pan and repeat.

Bake at 350 degrees for 65-75 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled before slicing. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator.
