Apple Fritters
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. melted butter (unsalted)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 C. granulated sugar
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1 C. flour sifted with other dry ingredients
- 5 med. apples (McIntosh, Granny Smith)
Directions
Peel, core and slice the apples into 1/4-inch rings. Put in bowl with lemon juice so they do not brown. Sift the dry ingredients together. Add the milk and butter. Mix. Pat the apple rings dry so dough sticks to rings. Make the dough stiff enough to dip the apple rings. Fry in canola oil at least 1/2 inch deep. Drain on paper towel. Serve. You can sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the rings if preferred.
