  • 3 cups + ½ cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, cold
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cups peaches, sliced
  • 2 cups apples, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Preheat the oven to 375F and grease a baking pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together 3 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt. Cut in the butter and the egg until the dough becomes crumbly. Cut the dough in half and pat half into the baking pan. Place the rest into the fridge until ready to top. Place the diced peaches and apples into a large bowl and mix in the lemon juice, remaining flour, remaining sugar and salt. Add in the nutmeg and cinnamon and mix well. Pour into the pan and then crumble the rest of the dough over the fruit filling. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
