  • Crust:
  • 1 1/2 C. all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. canola oil
  • 2 tsp. whole milk
  • Filling:
  • 5-6 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. flour
  • 1/2 C. butter, cut
  • Cinnamon for sprinkling
  • 4 C. ice cream
  • 1 bottle caramel sauce topping

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F. Peel the apples and cut them into 1/2" thick slices and put in a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Set aside.

In a 9-inch pie pan, add flour, sugar and salt for crust. Mix with fork. Add oil and milk. Mix well. Spread evenly in pie pan and up the sides. Pour apple mixture in crust.

In a medium mixing bowl, add sugar and flour for topping. Mix in butter and cinnamon. Dump mixture evenly over pie. Bake for 10 minutes in oven. Then turn down temperature to 350 degrees F. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Before serving, top with vanilla ice cream and drizzled caramel sauce.
