  • Filling:
  • 6 lbs. apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. cinnamon
  • 1/2 C. water
  • Crust:
  • 3 C. flour
  • 1/4 C. sugar
  • 1/2 C. water
  • 2 C. shortening

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Combine filling ingredients in large pot and cook on medium heat until apples are tender. Stir constantly. For crust, mix ingredients until they form a soft ball. Cut in half. Roll out on floured board. Place one crust on baking dish. Add filling. Top with second crust. Bake for about 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon or powdered sugar.
