  • 5 Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled, and diced
  • 5 T. butter
  • ¾ C. brown sugar
  • 1 T. cinnamon
  • Slices of bread (cinnamon swirl or plain white)
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 C. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

In a large skillet, combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a small amount of water. Heat for about 10 minutes until apples are tender. Line a baking dish with bread, top with apples, and layer bread and apples however many times you prefer. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla; pour slowly and evenly over bread and apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 40 minutes.
