Apple Pomegranate Cobbler with Walnut Crust

Ingredients
- 9 apples (5 Gala and 4 Granny Smith) peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick)
- 1/2 C. pomegranate seeds
- 1/4 C. white sugar
- 1/4 C. brown sugar
- 2 Tbs. flour
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 Tbs. butter, softened
- Topping:
- 2 C. flour, sifted
- 1/2 C. white sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 C. butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 C. milk
- 1/2 C. walnuts, chopped

Directions
In a large bowl, combine apples, pomegranate seeds, white and brown sugars, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients with hands until completely incorporated. Pour apple mixture into a buttered 9"x13" baking dish. Dot apples with softened butter. In another large bowl, combine topping ingredients (flour, white sugar, baking powder, salt, melted butter, egg, milk, and walnuts) and mix until completely combined. Drop batter in 6 even portions over the apple mixture. Bake for 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees or until apples are tender and crust is a beautiful golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream!
