Apple Stuffed Almond Encrusted French Toast

Ingredients
- 1 loaf of brioche, king's bread or any kind of whole loaf bread you can cut yourself
- 4 whole eggs, beaten
- 2 or 3 C. milk
- 1 Tbs. vanilla
- 1/4 C. sugar
- canned apple pie filling
- slivered almonds
- cinnamon
Directions
Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar together in a bowl. Slice bread to about 1 inch thick. Cut a pocket in the bottom of the bread and stuff with canned apple pie filling. Dip bread into batter, then into slivered almonds. Place into skillet and dust with cinnamon. Cook until golden brown. Serve with fresh fruit, chantilly cream or just by themselves.
