Asian-Flavored Coleslaw

This is not your typical coleslaw. By adding some Asian flavor to this side dish, you can really spice up a BBQ or picnic.

  • 5 to 6 C. thinly shredded red or white cabbage
  • 2 large celery stalks, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 2 to 3 scallions, sliced
  • 1/4 C. minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/3 to 1/2 C. Asian sesame seed dressing
  • pepper to taste

Combine cabbage, celery, scallions, and cilantro in a bowl.  Pour dressing over vegetables, season with pepper, and toss well.  Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

  • The Asiam cole slaw recipe sounds really yummy and I'm going to try it for our next Bar BQ this weekend. One question does anyone know what she sprinkled on top of the salad before she ate it? Kind of looked like crushed croutons.
