Asian-Style Crockpot Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients
- 1 lb. steak, cut into strips
- 1/2 C. onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ginger, grated, optional
- 1 C. beef broth, warmed
- 1/2 C. soy sauce
- 1/3 C. brown sugar, packed
- 1 Tbs. sesame oil
- 1/4-1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 2-3 Tbs. cornstarch
- 3-4 C. fresh broccoli, steamed
- rice, prepared

Directions
Put the steak, onions, garlic, and ginger into the crockpot. In a bowl, mix together the broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Continue to mix until the brown sugar is dissolved. Pour the mixture over the steak and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours. Stir in the cornstarch to thicken the sauce. Serve over rice and steamed broccoli.
