Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 5 Tbs unsalted butter
  • 5 Tbs all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ C milk
  • 2 C shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil

Preheat the oven at 400F and grease a baking dish with oil or butter.

In a medium sized-skillet, cook ground turkey until browned, set aside.

Boil the pasta with some added olive oil and salt. Drain and set aside.

Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Then add in the flour and mix until a paste is formed. Add in the milk and stir. Allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Once the sauce is thick enough, remove the pan from the heat and add 1 C of cheese into the mixture. Stir until it melts and combines well. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Then, put the cooked pasta into the baking dish and pour the prepared sauce over it. Ensure that the sauce properly coats the pasta. Sprinkle on the remaining cheese on top.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and becomes bubbly.

Remove, let it set for 2 minutes and serve hot.
