When you want to cook something special for the family, you can easily put together this spinach pasta with a tasty meat sauce! Bake the pasta in the oven for it to be ready just in time for dinner.

  • 2 (15-oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5-oz.) Italian-style tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 C. Italian dressing
  • 1/2 C. Romano cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 C. red wine
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 box elbow macaroni
  • 1 pkg. frozen spinach, thawed and chopped
  • 1 C. Ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 C. Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 C. Asiago cheese, shredded

Mix tomato sauce, tomatoes, Italian dressing, 1/4 C. Romano cheese, herbs and wine in crockpot on low. In a skillet, sauté garlic, onion and green pepper for about 4 to 5 minutes in olive oil. Add meat and cook until no longer pink. Drain fat and add meat mixture to crockpot. Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours. When crockpot time is almost completed, cook pasta al dente and drain. Preheat oven at 350 degrees F. Mix pasta with spinach and ricotta cheese, along with 1 C. meat sauce and remaining Romano cheese. Place mixture in a 13-by-9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheeses on top. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until bubbly.
