  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 C. butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 bananas, mashed
  • 2 C. unbleached flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Chocolate Glaze:
  • 2/3 C. heavy whipping cream
  • 6 oz. dark chocolate, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Use a electric mixture to combine sugar and butter. In another bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients. Use electric mixture to blend well together. Pour batter in loaf pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes.

For chocolate glaze, heat whipping cream in saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and mix with chocolate. Pour dark chocolate over banana bread. If you desire, add sliced bananas on top. Wait until chocolate firms before serving.
