Begin this recipe for bananas foster French toast by making your batter. Combine the eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, orange liqueur, sea salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Whisk until the batter is smooth. Set aside and make your sauce.

Melt your butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Once melted, continuously stir in your brown sugar until completely dissolved. Sprinkle in your cinnamon next, followed by the orange juice. Allow the pot to come to a simmer and then immediately remove it from the heat. Add your rum and then return the pan to the heat.

Next, use a pastry brush soaked in water to brush down the sides of the pan. Remove from the heat and transfer about ¼ cup of the sauce that you just made into a small sauté pan with your bananas. Cook over high heat until your bananas are heated through. Adjust the heat to low and keep warm until ready to serve.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over high heat. Once preheated, submerge your bread in the batter and then set onto the hot skillet to cook for about two minutes per side. Remove from the heat and keep warm while you cook the remaining French toast slices.

Set onto a plate and drizzle with the bananas foster. Serve warm.
