  • 2 carrots, finely diced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 C. great northern beans, canned and undrained
  • 1 C. barley
  • 2 C. cooked beef, finely diced
  • 6 C. water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients in a crockpot. Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours. Season with salt and pepper. Stir well. Discard bay leaf before serving.
