  • 3lbs beef stew cubes
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 15oz beef broth
  • ¾ cup dry red wine
  • 2 packets onion soup mix
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped

In a large bowl, combine the beef, salt, pepper and flour. Coat the meat well and toss onto a heated skillet with oil. Brown the beef and transfer it to the crockpot. Stir in the remaining ingredients and cover to cook on low for 12 hours, or until meat is tender. Serve topped with your choice of mashed potatoes.
