4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning mix
  • 3/4 C.water
  • 1 med. head lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 C. sliced ripe olives
  • 1 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 lg. tomato, cut into wedges
  • 1 sm. onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  • avocado slices
  • coarsely crushed taco shells
  • taco sauce

Directions

In a skillet, cook ground meat until brown.  Drain of excess fat.  Stir in taco seasoning mix and water.  Bring to boiling.  Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  In a salad bowl, combine lettuce, olives, and cheese.  Toss well.  Top with meat mixture, tomato, onion, avocado slices, and broken taco shells.  Pass taco sauce.
