Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lbs. ground chuck meat
- 2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
- 3 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. cayenne red pepper
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbs. allspice
- 1 Tbs. white vinegar
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 7 tsp. chili powder
- 1 qt. water
- mozzarella cheese, shredded
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- vegetable oil, enough for sauté
Directions
In a large skillet, or kettle, sauté onion until transparent, add water and meat. Break meat into bits. Add all other ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cheese before serving. This versatile chili can be eaten alone or served with your favorite hot dog. Freezes well.
