  • 2 pkg oil, for frying
  • 8 cod fillets
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 ( 12 oz can or bottle) of beer

Heat oil until hot. Rinse fish and pat dry. Season w/ salt and pepper. In bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper. Stir egg into mix. Gradually mix in beer until a thin batter is formed. Dip fillets into batter, gently drop into oil. Fry fish, turning once until both sides are golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
