Ingredients

  • 1 C. all purpose flour
  • 1 Qt. vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 C. milk
  • 2 Tbs. salt
  • 2 Tbs. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbs.
  • 1 Tbs. pepper
  • A dash of cayenne
  • 1 C. light beer
  • 2 lb. cipollini onions, peeled
  • Dip
  • ½ C. mayo
  • 2 Tbs. cream horseradish sauce
  • 1 Tbs. ketchup
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, beer, and seasonings. Snip the root of the onions off. Cut the onion into sections without cutting them apart. In a separate bowl, whisk milk and eggs together. Dip the onions in this mixture before coating them in the flour mixture. Fry in a deep pan with the cooking oil. For the dipping sauce, mix all of the ingredients together until it’s smooth.
