Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Mix 3 cups sifted flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder,1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup sugar, and one can of your beer of choice. Pour your mixture into a greased loaf pan. Melt 1/2 cup of butter (or a quarter cup if you want to cut down on fat) and pour it over your mixture. Bake it for an hour, then remove and let it cool for at least fifteen minutes.
For a softer crust more like traditional bread, mix the butter into the batter rather than pouring it over the top. And don't forget to sift your flour, as unsifted flour can produce a hard, compacted bread instead of the light, flaky texture you are looking for. If your bread comes out like a brick, you have done something wrong!
